Camping and Outdoor Equipment
Coleman Sportster Single Burner Stove
When camping or backing you want a camping cooker that will withstand the tests of time. This Coleman sportster is an extremely durable item to add to your camping and outdoor equipment which will prevent you from ever going hungry again when you are out in the wilds. This camping cooker can run off both Coleman canister fuel and unleaded petrol. Though you must remember that if you take up the unleaded petrol option of running this camping cooker then the operational life of the stove will be reduced. This is because the petrol produces a build up of sediment in the generator whereas using Coleman fuel is more stove friendly. Coleman fuel is more refined than the petrol and reduces the build up of sediment so the generator will not need to be replaced so frequently.
However unleaded petrol fuel is by far the cheapest fuel solution than any canister fuel available and is available pretty much anywhere. With unleaded this camping stove does boil water very quickly.

But if you are backpacking it may be a better idea to opt for the more expensive canister fuel as it is odour free whereas the petrol is not.
The Sportster is a very stable camping stove when in use and with the 3 pull out legs on the unit you can place it pretty much anywhere despite the surface being uneven. And we do like the filler cap as well. It is very secure and sealed preventing any fuel leakage. And the great thing about any Coleman stove there are spare parts available for it, so if your camping cooker does break then it can be easily repaired.
There is one thing to remember with this model though and that is to never forget to oil the primer pump. If you do not then the pump will not pump any air in to the stove and it will not work unless it is primed by pumping. So oil the primer pump every season and you will not have any problems.
